Good question. I had to send out my crack team of researchers to investigate this. A dime weighs 2.268 grams and the UK 5 pence piece 3.25 grams. May want to dig through some of your old stuff to find that lucky farthing you kept!

Great piece; brings back lots of memories. I know there are certain tracks on vinyl where you can hear the guitarist move his fingers along the strings, and this adds an extra dimension to the listenimng experience, as it makes you feel somehow 'connected'. That said, there is no beating the convenience of modern playing apparatus.
Just one question. Would a 5p piece be about the same weight as a dime?!!

It will be intersting to see if the Beeb have the balls to sack Clarkson, or will they prefer not to risk the extra revenues that are generated by Top Gear.
Of course, Clarkson himself is indirectly employed by the public sector, via the licence fee, though I'm sure his comments were just another example of puerile, 6th form humour.
